A printed iron cord end turns the tip of a drawcord into an advertising surface and makes your brand visible in even the smallest detail. The economical, robust iron body combines with a protective coating and a pattern or logo print to deliver a cord end with character that is ready for bulk production. At Elif Tekstil Aksesuarları, we manufacture printed iron cord ends in Istanbul in patterns and colors tailored to your brand, either attached to drawcords or as separate parts.

Stripes, camouflage, geometric patterns, brand names or logos can be applied to the cord end surface. The printing technique is determined at the sample stage according to the pattern’s level of detail, number of colors and the surface shape of the cord end.
Protective Coating
The iron body is treated with protective layers such as electroplating, paint or lacquer to prevent rust. This layer both provides an even base for printing and extends the cord end’s life against moisture and washing.
Ready for Bulk Production
With its workability and cost advantage, iron is a preferred cord end material for high-volume collections. A printed tip is a practical way to turn an ordinary drawcord into a branded detail without straining your budget.
Brand Visibility
Because hood and waist drawcords hang in the most visible areas of a garment, a printed cord end is a small signature that keeps your brand constantly in view, independent of logo embroidery or labels.
The tip of a drawcord may be a small area; with the right print, it becomes your brand’s most frequently touched advertising surface.
Brand Identity at the Tip of the Drawcord: Printed Iron
Printing on a small, cylindrical surface calls for different expertise than printing on a flat label. The right technique must be chosen so that the pattern sits on the curved cord end surface without shifting, blurring or losing scale. Pad printing is widely used to transfer logos and lettering onto curved surfaces thanks to its flexible silicone pad. For multicolor, near-photographic designs, UV digital printing stands out, while water transfer printing is the choice for motifs that wrap the entire surface, such as camouflage or marble. A logo laser-engraved onto a painted base, in turn, reveals the metallic surface underneath for a clean, permanent result.
Iron is one of the most commonly used materials in drawcord end production. Because it is easy to shape, can be securely press-crimped onto the cord and is economical, it offers a balanced solution between budget and durability on high-volume orders. However, by nature, iron is prone to rusting when it comes into contact with moisture and oxygen. That is why the body of a printed iron cord end is never left bare: the surface is first sealed with a protective coating, and the print is applied afterwards. A properly prepared iron cord end retains its appearance under everyday use and normal washing conditions, offering a functional alternative to more costly materials such as brass.
The life of a print depends largely on the quality of the base beneath it and the protective layer on top. Electroplating or paint applied to the iron body serves both as a barrier against rust and as an even surface for the ink to adhere to. Once printing is complete, a clear lacquer applied on request protects the pattern against abrasion, sweat and detergents. Since the cord end deforms slightly during pressing, it is also important that the print does not crack at the crimping zone; that is why pattern placement and press settings are trialed together on a sample. In this way, the print is planned to stay crisp throughout the life of the drawcord.

Where is it used?
Key applications for Printed Iron Cord End.
Branded Hoodies
A cord end printed with a logo or brand name turns the hood drawcord into a design element that speaks the same language as the chest print, strengthening collection identity in streetwear.
Team and Club Apparel
On sports club, school and team tracksuits, patterns derived from club colors are printed on the cord end, reflecting team spirit through a small but meaningful detail.
Corporate Promotions
For company events and promotional textiles, a logo-printed iron cord end is a practical solution that carries the brand permanently on high-volume orders at an economical cost.
Camouflage and Outdoor
Cord ends with camouflage or nature patterns applied by water transfer carry the fabric pattern right to the tip of the drawcord in outdoor jacket, hunting and camping apparel collections.
Bags and Backpacks
On drawstring backpacks and gym bags, a printed cord end matches the logo or pattern on the bag, noticeably enriching the product’s shelf appeal.
Special Edition Collections
In limited special editions and collaboration collections, cord ends printed with season-specific patterns become a detail that makes the product distinctive and collectible.
Printing and Base Options
On a printed iron cord end, the final look is determined by the printing technique and base color together. The options below are assessed according to the complexity of the pattern, the number of colors and the order volume; the most suitable method is finalized on a sample.
About custom manufacturing- 01
Pad Printing
Transferred onto the curved surface with a flexible pad, this technique is suited to logos and lettering in one or a few colors. It is frequently chosen for brand applications that require crisp-edged, sharp typography.
- 02
UV Digital Printing
It allows multicolor, gradient or photo-like designs to be transferred onto the cord end surface. UV-cured ink forms a smooth surface and offers flexibility for small-volume special editions.
- 03
Water Transfer Patterns
It wraps seamless patterns such as camouflage, carbon, marble or wood effects around the entire circumference of the cord end. Because the pattern repeat looks natural, it delivers a result with character in outdoor and streetwear.
- 04
Laser on Paint
The surface of a painted iron cord end is laser-engraved to reveal a logo or lettering. Since no ink is used, the risk of rubbing off is low, giving a clean, permanent marking.
- 05
Base Color Selection
The base beneath the print can be prepared in black, white, metallic or a shade close to your brand’s color code. The contrast between base and print color directly affects how legible the pattern is from a distance.
Printed Iron Cord Ends vs. Other Cord End Options
There are different routes to a branded drawcord tip. The table compares the printed iron cord end with a laser-logo brass cord end and a colored plastic cord end, clarifying the balance of budget, appearance and durability.

Quality Control Tips for Printed Iron Cord Ends
- Compare print colors in daylight with the approved sample and your brand color codes.
- Inspect closely that the pattern stays in place around the cord end and does not crack at the crimping zone.
- Check the cord end edges for coating chips, scratches or exposed bare iron.
- Storing cord ends in dry, closed boxes away from moisture reduces the risk of rust.
- Add a care label instruction to wash at low temperature, inside out, and not to use bleach.
- Keeping the printed surface away from stiff brushes and abrasive cleaners extends the life of the pattern.
Printed Iron Cord End: your questions answered
Can’t find the answer you’re looking for? Our team is happy to help.
Do iron cord ends rust?
When left bare, iron is a material prone to rusting on contact with moisture and oxygen. That is why printed iron cord ends are produced with a protective layer such as electroplating or paint, and the print is applied on top of this layer. As long as the coating remains intact, rust formation is largely prevented under normal use and washing conditions. A clear lacquer added on request provides extra protection.
Which printing techniques can be applied to a cord end?
Different techniques can be used depending on the pattern’s structure. Pad printing is commonly chosen for logos and lettering in one or a few colors, UV digital printing for multicolor and gradient designs, and water transfer printing for seamless patterns such as camouflage and marble. Laser engraving on a painted base also offers a clean, permanent alternative. The suitable technique is determined at the sample stage.
Does the print on the cord end wash off?
Print durability depends on the technique used, the preparation of the base and whether a protective lacquer is applied on top. Prints applied with the right technique and protected with lacquer retain their appearance for a long time in normal home washing. High temperatures, bleach and abrasive cleaners, however, can shorten the life of the print. If you share your washing expectations from the outset, the printing and protection method is planned accordingly.
Can I have my own logo or pattern printed on the cord end?
Yes, the printed iron cord end is prepared entirely for your brand. Simply send your logo or pattern artwork in vector format. Our design team adapts the pattern to the curved surface and circumference of the cord end and prepares a layout proposal. A printed sample is produced so you can see the color accuracy and pattern alignment; bulk production is planned after your approval.
Should I choose an iron or a brass cord end?
With its economical cost and a base well suited to multicolor printing, an iron cord end is ideal for high-volume, colorful and eye-catching collections. A brass cord end, by nature, is more resistant to rust, heavier and offers a premium look; it is generally preferred for clean, laser-logo applications. The choice should be based on your product’s price positioning and visual language.
Is the print damaged when the printed cord end is attached to the drawcord?
The cord end is placed on the tip of the drawcord and attached by compressing it around its circumference with a press. Since the crimping zone of the cord end deforms slightly during this step, the pattern placement is planned accordingly and the press pressure is adjusted so as not to crack the print. These settings are trialed on the printed sample; bulk production then proceeds with the approved values, preserving the integrity of the print.
Can I buy printed iron cord ends wholesale together with drawcords?
Yes. We can supply printed iron cord ends wholesale as separate parts, or deliver them crimped onto polyester or cotton drawcords produced by Elif Tekstil Aksesuarları, cut to length and ready to sew as a set. Order quantity, packing method and shipping plan are set according to your project. We serve both domestic and export orders.
